Great Festive Wear Ideas

When an invitation says "festive wear", it means the event will be a fun party and guests will be expected to dress fashionably. Usually, it is the men's clothing that defines an event's dress code. For example, if the evening attire for men is white tie, the women will be expected to wear very formal, long dresses. If the invitation mentions black tie, women could either wear a short or
long evening gown.
Festive wear should be both stylish and elegant. The choice of outfit is determined by the timing and type of the occasion one will be attending. Usually, day events are not as elegant as evening parties. Day parties would call for fabrics such as a satin, velvet or silk pants/suit worn with a satin, silk, velvet or metallic blouse. Also appropriate would be festive wear consisting of knit or wool pants/skirt paired with a jacket, sparkly sweater, or other dressy top. The choice of evening wear varies for various events such as theatre/opera, cocktail party, dinner/banquet or a ball.
It is important that the type of outfit chosen suits one's skin color and body type. However, colors like black and blue suit almost all individuals.  A well-fitting outfit will make any woman look strong and bold in appearance. Accessorizing a designer outfit properly is as vital as selecting the right designer outfit. Festive wear is about vibrancy and colors, accompanied with striking and attractive accessories. A great outfit with the wrong accessories can spoil the look one desires to portray. Accessories could include bags, shoes and jewelry.
